“It was like a slap in the face.”
“I felt crushed.”
“I still don’t understand why this happened.”
Oh, the weight of rejection.
It can feel like a punch to the gut, right?
Leaving you winded and vulnerable.
I’ve been there.
I’ve felt that.
And it doesn’t…feel…good.
Those countless job applications that have gone unanswered…
Those promotions that have slipped through your fingers…
Those dreams that have been deferred time and time again.
You know what helps?
Normalizing the experience.
The most talented and successful people have faced rejection.
Nobody…I mean NOBODY…is immune to rejection.
It’s inevitable to face rejection for anyone who’s pursuing big dreams.
You know what else helps?
Knowing that a rejection is not a reflection of your worth.
It’s not a measure of your abilities…
Or your value as a human being.
It’s simply a part of life…
A milestone on the journey to success, happiness, and fulfillment.
And while it may sting in the moment…
It’s also an opportunity for growth, learning, and self-discovery.
So embrace that feeling of rejection…
Embrace the lessons it has to teach you…
Learn to pick yourself up after each fall.
Dust yourself off…
And try again.
Find resilience in the face of adversity…
And refuse to let rejection define you.
Your worth is not determined by the opinions of others…
Or the setbacks you encounter along the way.
You are strong.
You are capable.
And you deserve the success and happiness that’s coming your way.
But one thing I know for sure about success…
Facing rejection is a necessary part of the journey.
Rooting for you,
Jay (encouraging you to embrace rejection)
