Why worry?

05/06/24

“I’ve had a lot of worries in my life. Most of which never happened.” ~ Mark Twain

Are you worrying too much?

Constantly thinking about all the bad things that could happen?

“What if THIS happens?”

“What if THAT happens?”

“What if…what if…what if…”

And then…

Panic starts to set in?

My friend, this is a sign that you’re experiencing “anticipatory anxiety”.

Sometimes it can feel like your mind is working against you…

You’re trying to live your life…

But your brain won’t stop focusing on bad things that could happen…

And these thoughts can be frustrating…

Exhausting…

And draining.

These “what ifs” and the fears of what might happen tomorrow…

Next week…

Or even years from now…

Only rob you of your current happiness.

So…

Why not make a conscious decision to shift your focus?

Work on embracing the present…

Enjoy every moment you have.

Living in the present is not about ignoring the future…

Or failing to prepare for it;

Rather…

It’s about allowing yourself to fully experience the here and now…

Without the shadow of future worries.

Each moment you spend in worry…

Is a moment not fully lived…

A moment not fully appreciated for the unique space it occupies in your life.

Instead…

Stop trying to control the uncontrollable…

Practice being more in the moment…

Focus solely on what’s in front of you…

Be in the NOW.

Rooting for you,
Jay (encouraging you to stop worrying about things that won’t happen)
