It was 2:15pm and I needed to leave the house to pick up my daughter from school, but I had a problem…
I couldn’t find my keys.
I was running late, so I was frantic, looking everywhere.
I went to the bedroom to check the nightstand…
Not there.
I checked the hooks by the kitchen where I normally hang my keys…
Nothing.
I go to my office and check every corner of my desk…
No keys.
I definitely checked my pockets earlier, but I took a moment to pause…
I took a deep breath…
And the thought came to me to double-check my pockets.
I reached into my pockets…
And of course…
My keys were already in my pocket 😆.
I KNOW that I’m not alone here.
We’ve all had moments like this.
Now here’s the point of the story…
When we’re looking for answers outside of ourselves…
Looking for ideas of how to solve problems…
Searching for purpose, meaning, courage…
We’re so often looking for something that we already have.
If you’re ever feeling stuck…
Confused…
Overwhelmed…
And you’re looking for a way out…
Start by finding a way in.
Recognize that what you’re seeking is already within you.
The answers are simply clouded by stress, anxiety, worry, and overthinking.
Just like how my frantic behavior was causing me to go on an exhaustive search of my entire house…
The overthinking mind can cause you to waste a lot of time and energy seeking answers that are already within you.
I found the keys when I paused, took a breath, and reconsidered that the keys may already be in my pocket.
You’ll find your answers when you pause, take a breath, and reconsider that the answers you’re looking for have been with you all along.
Rooting for you,
Jay (encouraging you to find a way in)
